Two minutes of Meghan Markle's royal life that were 'turning point' ahead of quit

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced they were quitting the royal family in January, but they said they spent months considering their life-changing decision before that

Meghan Markle's royal life was far from easy, with critical headlines, nasty comments from online trolls and hurtful interviews by distance relatives part of her day-to-day.

After just two years she decided to turn her back on the spotlight and along with husband Prince Harry stepped back from her duties.
Many experts have tried to pinpoint the moment the couple decided enough was enough, but one believes there was one engagement in particular that was a real "turning point".
Christine Ross, the editor of the Meghan's Mirror blog, thinks we saw a new side of the royal couple on the first day of their South Africa tour.
Shortly before they left a township in Cape Town, the couple were stopped by a group of performers and started dancing with them, and the casual, fun moment became a tour highlight.
The couple looked completely at ease
Speaking on the Mirror's royal podcast Pod Save the Queen, she said: "She was dancing with the children and it was such a stark contrast to some of the events we had seen before her pregnancy.
"She's in this very affordable dress, she's in affordable wedges, her hair is in a ponytail, she's dancing with children.
"We didn't know then what we know now but I think that moment and that look was a turning point in their roles, in that they weren't going to be these high glamour royals any more.
"They wanted to be more down to earth, with the people, dancing with the children, getting out with the crowds."
Meghan's dress was very different to the traditional 'royal style'
Meghan wore a stunning black and white wrap dress by Mayamiko for a visit to a organisation that promotes female empowerment in Cape Town.
The £69 patterned dress was from Mayamiko, a sustainable Malawi brand.
Christine said: "I love that wrap dress because it's not a royal colour. Meghan does wear bright colours but her signature style and her personal style is more monotonatic - its black, it's white, it's grey, it's deep navy.
They spent lots of time chatting to people from the different organisations.
